China averse to India holding G-20 moot in IIOJK
The spokesman said that the parties concerned should refrain from complicating the situation by unilateral action.

China opposes India's plan to hold G-20 summit in India's illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ) and on Thursday called on the group member to focus on economic recovery and politicize the issue. Avoid coloring.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Xiao Lijian in his regular briefing said that the Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India should be resolved amicably in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and bilateral agreements.

According to Indian media, New Delhi had planned to host the 2023 G-20 summit at IIOJK and its foreign ministry had already issued instructions to local authorities to ensure necessary arrangements.

Pakistan has already rejected India's unilateral attempt to convene the G-20 summit at IIOJK, reiterating that the region is under the forcible and illegal occupation of New Delhi. Xiao stressed the need to resolve disputes through dialogue and consultation.
He said the G-20 is an important forum for international economic cooperation. He urged the parties concerned to focus on economic recovery and refrain from politicizing the issue so as to play a positive role in improving global economic governance.
Responding to another question, Xiao said that the work of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the region was very different from holding the G-20 summit in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that China has launched projects to help Pakistan develop its economy and improve its livelihood. This does not mean that our position on Kashmir has changed. I have already explained my tough stance on Kashmir.
Asked whether China would attend the meeting, the foreign ministry spokesman said the Chinese side would look into it.
