Amir Liaquat in his own life booked a grave at the shrine of the holy saint

In five graves his parents, first mother-in-law and a famous Naat reciter are resting in four graves.


 Karachi:
The late television artist Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain had booked a grave for himself in the premises of the mausoleum of venerable Sufi saint Abdullah Shah Ghazi in the city during his lifetime.

Dr. Amir Liaquat Hussain, a popular TV host and also a federal legislator, passed away at his residence in Karachi on Thursday.

"She had booked space in 2007 for five graves in the cemetery on the grounds of Abdullah Shah Ghazi's mausoleum," Pannu Khan, the shrine's assistant manager and focal person, told the Express Tribune.


Aamir's parents, mother and father, his first mother-in-law and popular Naat singer Khurshid Sahib are buried in four graves.

Amir wanted to be buried with his parents in the same cemetery as per his will.


Pannu Khan said that since the fifth tomb had already been allotted to Amir, permission from the endowment department would not be required.

He further said that these five graves are located in a small compound inside the cemetery which is named after Amir's father Sheikh Liaquat Hussain.

Pannu Khan said that Aamir Sahib often used to come to the compound to offer funeral prayers for those buried there.

"He was a very kind and sociable man," he told the Express Tribune.

Condolences pour in

People who were loved by those who hated them used to greet them after death after being on fire for months at a meaningless marriage.

Television host MNA Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain was offered condolences by the government, media and colleagues and people from all walks of life who passed away at his home on Thursday during prolonged load shedding. ۔

Along with various political and social personalities, the people also expressed their grief and sorrow over the sudden demise of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain.

Former President and Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians Asif Ali Zardari in his condolence message issued from the party secretariat said that the services of Dr Amir Liaquat in the field of journalism and politics will always be remembered.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to give place to the soul of the deceased in mercy.

Expressing grief over the demise of television host and MNA Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah prayed that Allah Almighty place the soul of the deceased in His mercy and grant this irreparable loss of patience to the bereaved family. Give us the strength to endure together.

Minister for Labor and Manpower Saeed Ghani in his condolence message said that the late Amir Liaquat was a versatile personality who won hearts as a TV host, religious scholar and legislator.

Additional IG Karachi Javed Akhtar Odho also expressed grief over the sudden demise of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain and prayed for elevation of ranks.

Talking to media at the residence of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain, MQM Minority Member Provincial Assembly Mangla Sharma said that he is a very lively, laughing, mischievous, very good and brave man.

He maintained that he was an open-hearted person who did not know hypocrisy.

Moin Alam Karimi, who has been reciting Naat with Amir Liaqat in Ramadan transmissions for 15 years, said that he used to help the poor and deserving people who were ashamed to help in front of the camera.
